Malo e Lelei and Welcome to the Department of Climate Change

The Department of Climate Change strives to put an effective system in place for climate change mitigation, adaptation and phasing out of ozone depleting substances. The Department follows the Climate Change Policy (2016), Joint National Action Plan 2 on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management 2018-2028 (JNAP 2) that align to the Tonga Strategic Development Framework II (2015-2025) together with the Framework for Resilient Development in the Pacific (2017-2030) and International obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Vienna Convention for the protection of the Ozone Layer.
